Yamazaki 2022 Limited Edition Tsukuriwake Selection

Die japanische Brennerei House of Suntory enthüllte 2022 die Yamazaki Tsukuriwake Selection, die den originalen Single Malt Whisky von Yamazaki in seine Einzeldestillate zerlegt. The four 2022 Editions are now also available in Germany. In keeping with the title of the series, the various production processes of the Yamazaki Distillery are to be highlighted.
The distillery can use differently peated and unpeated barley malt, different types of wash backs, eight pairs of pot stills of different shapes and barrels of different types of oak. Yamazaki Puncheon, Yamazaki Spanish Oak, Yamazaki Peated Malt and Yamazaki Mizunara are considered the defining ingredients of Yamazaki single malts.

YAMAZAKI PUNCHEON
The Puncheon is considered the "heart" of what makes the Yamazaki Single Malt a true Yamazaki.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale gold
Aroma: Green apple, ripe pear, acacia honey with a hint of vanilla.
Taste: Clean, velvety and mild, with delicate caramel notes.
Finish: The woodiness of oak, with a subtle sweetness.

YAMAZAKI SPANISH OAK
The Spanish Oak is considered the "depth enhancer", giving the Yamazaki its distinctive, complex and full flavour with ripe fruit notes.

Tasting Notes
Colour: A rich reddish amber hue.
Aroma: Dried sultanas and plums, with hints of sun-dried tomatoes.
Taste: Deliciously rich and decadent with subtle acidity
Finish: Buttery with lingering acidity and a hint of bitterness.

YAMAZAKI PEATED MALT
The Peated Malt is considered the "hidden accent" that gives Yamazaki its complexity and lingering finish.

Colour: Light gold
Aroma: Discreetly smoky with notes of green herbs
Flavour: Gently peated with hints of earthiness, pineapple and citrus notes
Finish: Complex with lingering peatiness

YAMAZAKI MIZUNARA
Mizunara - a type of oak native to Japan - is considered the reinforcing element that gives Yamazaki its elegance and distinctive Japanese character.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Amber
Aroma: Rich and elegant top note, custard cream, cinnamon
Taste: Smooth on the tongue, aromatic and round with spicy sweet notes
Finish: Distinct, deep woody notes reminiscent of Japanese incense
